received his JD from the University of California Los Angeles and his BA from the University of California Berkeley where he majored in political science, founded a fraternity, and taught a course on Larry David’s Curb Your Enthusiasm. Daniel has worked for an import/export fabric manufacturer, a hedge fund, the U.S. Department of Commerce, and a start‐up incubator. He currently leads Business Development for Charlie. In this role, Daniel has played an integral part in the development of Totspot.com, including a collaborative effort to fundraise for Generation Rescue, a non‐profit devoted to helping children with Autism.
has directed new media strategy for leading entertainment, corporate, and political clients. Before Charlie, Sam was a member of Barack Obama’s presidential campaign new media team, producing interactive advertisements including the first‐ever political ads on Hulu, Pandora, and in Xbox Live video games. He then worked for the Presidential Inaugural Committee as an official blogger. Previously, Sam worked in press and new media for the Labour Party, Alan Khazei, Eliot Spitzer, John Kerry, Hillary Clinton, and The Huffington Post. He graduated from Harvard College and served as business manager of the Harvard Lampoon. During college, he interned at Credit Suisse (i-banking), Google, and The Colbert Report.

Before Charlie, Michael co-founded and led product initiatives at TotSpot, which earned top honors at Twiistup, Los Angeles’ premiere startup showcase. Michael graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College where he was awarded the Thomas T. Hoopes Prize for outstanding research. At Harvard, Michael served as the Editorial Chair for the Crimson and earned a National Pacemaker Award for his writing. In addition to his work at Charlie, Michael is earning his JD/MBA at Stanford and invests in early stage startups.
has led interactive campaigns for presidential, senatorial, and congressional candidates, built online platforms for Fortune 500 companies, and developed sales channel strategies for e‐commerce clients. Adam graduated magna cum laude in Government from Harvard College. In addition to his work at Charlie, he is currently a JD/MBA candidate at Harvard. Before Charlie, Adam launched CampusTap, a blogging platform sold to CoreObjects. A few years before that, he used his bar mitzvah money to gamble on internet IPOs, and, at age 14, launched a four-times per-day newsletter, online website, and research service devoted to the IPO market.
Chief Technology Officer of Charlie, Sean joined the team in 2007 as lead engineer of a new social networking platform for a major presidential campaign. As CTO he leads the team that turns Charlie’s strategies and designs into smooth-running code. Before joining Charlie, and in between consulting gigs, Sean co-authored two books on web application development published by Prentice Hall, contributed to over a dozen computer science texts used at hundreds of universities around the world, and taught software engineering courses at companies including Intel, Dell and EMC. A classically trained tenor, Sean dreams of stardom on the opera stage.
has more than a decade of strategy, corporate development and business development experience for leading media companies including Google, Virgin, and BSkyB (News Corp). She has deep expertise in evaluating investment opportunities, developing business plans and financial models, and advising C-level executives. Tania spent seven years in Europe, working with television, telecom and internet clients, collaborating closely with finance, engineering, and product management to translate strategy into execution. Tania has a BA in International Commerce from Brown University and an MBA from Wharton.
graduated from Harvard College with a BA in Philosophy. There he chaired the Harvard Leadership Conference and co‐wrote the 159th production of the Hasty Pudding Theatricals, the world’s oldest college theatre group. Before joining Charlie, Trey worked as a copywriter at Grey New York, creating television, radio, print, interactive and guerrilla campaigns for such brands as Aquafresh, Advil, Botox, Dairy Queen, Green Earth Technologies, and Virgin Mobile. With his writing partner, Trey is currently developing a comedy pilot for NBC.
graduated from George Washington University and joined the fashion, beauty and nightlife guide, Scheckys.com, as their Los Angeles Editor. She has written for an eclectic variety of magazines, newspapers and websites including the LA Times, Art and Living, Women’s Life, Dining Out, Pasadena Mag, LA Splash, Spoil Spot, SoCal Senior News, and Venice News. Katie has also worked in TV production on shows like It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Jackass and has two produced plays of her own. She is now delving into the world of fitness, beauty and wellness as the Editor of FabFitFun.
joined Charlie in 2010 as an administrative associate, providing support to clients and making the trains run on time internally. She has served as a Director for the American Red Cross and Muscular Dystrophy Associations as well as a Training Manager for an international aerospace organization. Jennifer has experience executing large-scale fundraising events, managing international staffs and developing quality management programs. Jennifer is a graduate of Duquesne University with a BS in Organizational Communications and Leadership.
joined the company as a designer in late 2008, focusing primarily on Totspot and Twillist. Throughout his 6 year stint as a graphic and print designer, he has worked for numerous enterprise businesses and startups as a top level consultant in user interface design, user experience architecture and overall usability. He is a graduate of the University of the Philippines with a degree in Social Science majoring in both Psychology and Political Science.
received her AA degree from The Art Institute and her BS from San Francisco State University. She began her professional career in Silicon Valley where she specialized in client management and training with various dot-coms. After moving to Los Angeles, she created a client services division at a non-profit organization devoted to helping low income families receive child care and employment assistance. Katrina has since worked in the retail/fashion industry in marketing and production for companies such as GUESS?, Sears Holdings, and Babies ‘R Us. Katrina has always believed in philanthropic efforts and has volunteered throughout her life as a mentor and tutor, and for non-profit organizations.
graduated from Harvard College with a BA in Philosophy. Before graduating, she received research scholarships to conduct brain-imaging research, studied architectural design, and interned at a hedge fund in New York. Her graphic design career began at Macy’s, where she designed logos, print material and promotional items for the Parade and Entertainment group. In addition, she has worked as a graphic designer and brand consultant for various other large corporations, producing a wide range of projects from print to interactive media.
has always been fascinated by beautiful images and creating things with his hands. After discovering a natural talent for visual creativity in high school, he enrolled in a design program, and the rest is history. He has spent the last 9 years immersed in the design industry, absorbing information and acquiring skills that can only be gained by experience.
graduated from University of Massachusetts Boston with a B.A. in English and Women’s Studies and now works on editorial and marketing for FabFitFun. Her athletic childhood was a natural transition into her healthy lifestyle as an adult. While growing up in Maine, much of her time was spent hiking, skiing, camping, swimming and playing outside. She believes this is the root of exercising at its most fun.

The landing page for Guiliana Rancic’s FabFitFun website is an excellent example of the near perfect landing page. A splash of color, an appealing design, a beautiful woman, and an obvious opt in box with a massive sign up button. It’s almost impossible to land on this page and not enter your name and zip code into the provided boxes. And hey… did you notice? It’s free! Proud to present the new Dick Clark Productions corporate site. DCP is a rising star in the new media landscape, and now they have a corporate presence to match all the innovative things they’ve been doing for their individual shows. Congratulations DCP!
How do they do it? A snazzy profile picture on their facebook fan page and still a beautifully branded logo as an avatar / thumbnail for the newsfeed?
You can have both! Just open up Photoshop or Fireworks and create a 200x400px canvas; dedicate one half to a branded image and the other to something more lively to spice up your page or an explanation of what your company does to reinforce the message on your custom tab (you have a custom tab, right?).
You’ll get beautiful results. Check out these examples:
